v1.0.0 Release Notes

MCP4E Launcher v1.0.0 introduces a convenient way to launch an MCP Server that has been compiled to a binary or distributed via a JAR file.

MCP Server Deployment

JAR file support (universal): Note, we standardize on the latest release of JAVA. This would require a local installation of JAVA (e.g., OpenJDK or a similar compliant JDK). All of our MCP Servers standardize on the latest release of JAVA. Binary support: We currently compile MCP servers to the following platforms:

Binary distributions of MCP Servers are preferred over JAR distributions for performance reasons; however, the JAR files support a universal build-once run-anywhere approach to maximize flexibility.

Not all MCP servers will be distributed via JAR files.

Automatic updates

MCP4E handles automatic updates for the MCP Server(s). Your license includes the ability to run multiple instances of the MCP Server for High-Availability/Performance reasons.

License handling

Upon expiration of a license, the MCP Server will automatically shut down with clear logging about the license being expired. As long as the process continues to be running, the MCP Server will re-launch upon renewal of the license.
